Berkshire House

We have designed this bespoke family home for a heavily constrained suburban site in Berkshire. The existing site featured a rundown bungalow and was dominated by mature trees protected by Tree Preservation Orders.

Whilst the site is large and generous, the root protection zones of the retained trees substantially restricted the developable area where a new home could be located. We developed a unique design that both allowed the retention of the trees whilst also celebrating their presence by orientating the main internal spaces and key windows to take in composed views of these natural assets.
